  Maanadu - The first thing that came to my mind after seeing the first scene is, the Hollywood movie "Source Code". I started to feel disappointed knowing that the entire movie is going to be based on the time loop. The worst part is people who haven't watched Source code is going to enjoy it and I am not going to enjoy it. The whole theatre was struck in awe seeing the timeloop scene for the first time. But for me, it was a normal scene and I started to feel bored until some fan moments started to pour in like the nose bleeding scene, reminding the Manmadhan. From there it started getting better for me and it became very interesting in the second half. Even though first half seemed a little repitative for me, it was good to see the slim and fit Simbu. Even it was little different from his previous acting.   I booked an evening show ticket knowing that movie is good by the initial reviews. I wonder whether they are paid up reviews or fan boys reviews. First half was too slow. I was patiently waiting because most of the Malayalam movies start slow at first but then it will be picked up in the second half. But Kurup was exceptional that even the second half didn't impress me much. But yeah, second half was better than the first half. Revealing everything in the climax works only if the entire plot is interesting. But Kurup was utter disappointment for me. I noticed many of the details are missing. In the final scene, it was first shown as he was caught but he escapes. They didn't show how he did despite being caught red-handed. I didn't had much expectations but I just wanted to have a satisfaction of logging off early from work was worth it. But it wasn't worth it. 

 I never thought I would get goosebumps watching a Siva Karthikeyan movie. I am not understating SK here. It's not easy making people laugh, either. What I am trying to say is, playing a role like Varun and showing that kind of military doctor demeanor meticulously is different level. I can easily say SK pulled out a top notch performance that we can't think of any one else to play his role. Apart from SK, Vinay was terrific. Even though it reminded Thuparivalan movie, it was very good. On the comedy track, Redin Kingsley gives tough competition to Yogi Babu and he eventually wins but kudos to the director Nelson for using them throughout the movie and they travel along the story. He very well crafted this story and made it as interesting throughout the movie. My initial thoughts on the trailer was, Doctor would be mostly serious and here and there comedy will be sprinkled. I even thought second half might be little off track but Nelson handled it very well and gave an amazing ...

  Well, 32 is absolutely large number as many series are having five plus seasons and each seasons contains more than 8+ episodes. During the start of the lockdown, I got most excited and kind of sleeping hardly 3 to 4 hours to watch more episodes. I was even having sleep deprivation and sleeping disorder after some days. Luckily, I recovered after a month. Probably, next year, I wouldn't even watch 10 series as there is not much left(Best series). I also want to mention that I had to abandon some series as I wasn't enjoying it. I marked them as abandoned.(These are my personal opinions).  Here is the list :  1. Rick and Morty Season 1 2.   In 2020, I watched 125 Movies. Though I got more time during lockdown, I mostly focused on watching the series as my movies wish list became shrink as I have already most of the good movies.   Soorarai Potru - Glad we got at least one good Tamil movie in 2020.  Every character was amazing. Especially I liked Sundari's character. Women with their dreams - it always impresses me. She breaks all the stereotypes - helping the husband financially, motivating when he is low and striking the business deal with him and growing together. That was amazing.  The purpose of low cost aviation can't be explained better than this but I felt they could have elaborated more on the technical part and Maara's influence in the village could have been told better. I mean he is the son of the teacher who once fought to halt the express trains is different thing but entire village people coming together giving away millions of money while they are still figuring out to earn a bread and butter didn't feel right. But the twist at the last and Maara's perseverance makes those flaws forgiveable.  GV Prakash once again proved he can give great background score which is a major plu...

Scam 1992 is brilliant in every aspect.  A webseries based on some financial scam that happened in 90s that means in pre-digital era. One could see how much effort one has to put to bring out that 90s period. Kudos to the creator and crew. I think the best thing about the series is screenplay, not even a minute I felt bored and I never thought I would binge-watch this one as it is based on financial fraud. That means there will be many technical details about how the stocks gets processed and how the money market operates and people may easily get bored of hearing all this. It was interesting throughout the last episode.  Casting is brilliant. I don't know anyone can play as Hardhad Mehta except Pratik Gandhi (An actor who appears mainly in Gujarati movies). His acting was immaculate. It felt like he is an actor having fifty years of experience in cine field. Be it the dialogue delivery or the body language, he did wonderful job.
