The People v. O. J. Simpson: American Crime Story Series review

 

The People v. O. J. Simpson: American Crime Story is based on the real life American football player Simpson's trial. The reason for trail is the allegation that he killed his ex-wife and another guy who hooked up with her. What I just said is not a spoiler and you will get to know in the first few minutes of episode 1. What happens after that is the twist. Is he the murderer or someone. What I forgot to mention here is that Simpson is an African American and his ex wife and that guy are native American. So if you know about black Vs white, then it will be easy to understand what are the complications for the court to conduct a proper fair trail. One side white people want him dead and another side black people think Simpson is framed. I can confidently say that this series portrayed all these complications meticulously. All the court room scenes were amazing. The last time I remember seeing a good court room scene is from Better Call Saul, after that The People v. O. J. Simpson: American Crime Story  pictured it perfectly. They even showed as how the jury is being selected and how the jurors are kept alone so that anything that they may see in television magazine doesn't cloud their judgement. I even liked how the Judge was asked to get a signature from his spouse that she doesn't know any of the people related to the case. I guess that's where they had me, telling us the real procedures of trial, especially if it involves big celebrity. 

Coming to the acting, one cannot easily criticize performance of anyone. I liked everyone except David schwimmer(Ross from friends). It's not that his acting is bad but I didn't feel like he is the perfect person to play as the Friend of Simpson or he is over qualified. 

I have to press one thing here. Even though this series shows all those procedures of conducting trial, not even a second, I didn't get bored. I pulled an all nighter to complete this series and its worth it. Must watch and not to be missed.
