Jersey (2019 Telugu) Movie review

 People always tell me they cried watching some movies. For that, I used to think how they care so much about something that's happening in the screen and something that is fictional. But that doesn't mean that I never felt emotional watching a movie. After all, I always want to feel the emotions. I always want to feel the depth of how a person goes through some pain in their life. Sometimes I even boast that I never cried while watching a movie. I guess I couldn't say that anymore because Jersey made me cry.

Jersey is about a failed cricketer and how he goes through that failure in the rest of his life. But that is after ten years. Before that, he was blessed with the talent and love. But then some politics in the selection made him to quit the cricket. That's what they tell in the beginning but we come to know why he wanted to quit and then again want to play cricket is revealed at the end of the climax and that's where they had me. There are so many emotional scenes. Imagine how it would be, the same person that once believed in you doesn't believe in you anymore and the person is your love of life. I mean it just shatters what you have. That support always boosts what we have inside. But when all the people gives up on Arjun (Nani), his son still admire him as hero. Those father son moments are perfectly made. I need to say Nani is terrific when it comes to emotions. Be it failure or success he never failed to showcase those emotions. One of the best iconic performance of Nani. And then sathyaraj and Shraddha plays neatly.

But more than that the little boy's acting is so amazing that every father may want a kid like him to support. You know for men, sometimes their son is more or equally important than the love of life. Likewise, director wrote so many  beautifulemotional scenes. 

Another plus is the way they shot the cricket playing sequences which are natural as well as way better than sports scenes of some high budget movies.  Anirudh's background score adds magic which makes the movie complete. Jersey - one of the finest movies that Telugu film industry ever produced. Not to miss. Jersey is not just a film. It's a life. A life of all the people who tries something in their life to achieve despite the continuous rejections.

Trivia : Its currently being remade into Bollywood with Shahid Kapoor as lead.
