Sarkar (2018) Tamil Movie review
The movie starts with the stylish CEO also known by the names, corporate criminal and corporate monster. One thing that irritates most is, almost every one in the movie glorifies about the CEO which reminds scenes of all the Siruthai Siva's movies. But once Vijay becomes dominant in the screen it becomes normal.
As the first half holds unwanted songs and unnecessary meagre comedy, the story starts slowly. Screenplay gets little dragged and distracted by keerthy Suresh, Livingston and Yogi babu. They potray Vijay can't handle the fact that his vote was casted by someone but when he meets that someone, he slaps and eventually drinks and dances with him. Somehow these kind of scenes ends. But these are fan boys' moments.
Now comes the second half and OMG ponnu gives OMG feel. But that's it. After that the movie becomes very interesting even though it had so many true incidents incorporated. I personally felt second half gives more strength even though it had less mass moments. Though ARM included Livingston and yogi babu, he didn't give much space as it deviates the story.
Whenever they say GL CEO Sundar it becomes so obvious that it is implying Google's CEO Sundar Pichai. The same applies for Sarkunam IAS character which reminds of Sakayam IAS. As it had so many real characters it gives a feel that there wasn't much effort put for writing even though we come to know about facts of tomato and new sections of law. But there are two persons that compensates all these are Vijay and A.R. Rahman. For every fight sequence top tucker song and CEO in the house adds a layer of mass factor. And for all the other important scenes oru viral puratchi sheds the emotions. So now it becomes obvious that simtangaran and OMG ponnu songs are force fitted. Despite some flaws, Sarkar is still watchable as it's political idea is good.
